Joon Lee covers sports & culture. His work has appeared on ESPN, Bleacher Report and The Washington Post

Hey there!

Thanks for stumbling upon my website.

I’m an independent sports journalist reporting on YouTube and as a freelance writer. I previously worked for ESPN and Bleacher Report, where I interviewed and photographed sports & pop culture figures like Kylian Mbappe, David Ortiz, Mookie Betts, Jimmy Garoppolo, Chloe Kim and Action Bronson. I’ve also written for The New York Times opinion section.

My work has been featured on The Best American Sportswriting series and recognized as a finalist for the Dan Jenkins Medal for Excellence in Sportswriting.

In 2017, I graduated from Cornell University, where I worked at the Cornell Daily Sun and student radio WVBR, after transferring from Boston University, where I worked on the Daily Free Press. In 2013, I graduated from Brookline High School, where I worked on the student newspaper, The Cypress.

I like to watch movies, listen to BTS and eat hamburgers. I’m originally from the Boston area, but was born in Seoul, South Korea.
